- Helmet with chin strap

Hands-On Training Note
The Saturday sessions will serve as the hands-on portion of the course.
- The first Saturday will focus on tools and stabilization.
- The next two Saturday sessions will focus on cutting.
Important Certification Testing Note
Certification testing will be held on a separate date.
The certification testing date is TBD.
Students who take the NFPA 1006 certification test must also take the Hazardous Materials Awareness (HMA) Certification test.
Course Description
This program is designed to enhance the student’s ability to perform critical skill sets in the field of technical rescue for incidents involving common passenger vehicles.
During this course, students will review scene safety and size-up strategies, apply the phases of extrication, vehicle extrication principles and theories, stabilization and extrication techniques, basic patient care and packaging techniques, and manage incident challenges to accurately and safely execute the skill sets required for safe and effective patient extrication.

- Patient packaging and extrication

This course is conducted in accordance with NFPA 1006 and 1670. It is designed for students with a working knowledge of emergency response.
This course is also designed to prepare a candidate for professional certification testing, written and skills, in accordance with NFPA 1006 Common Passenger Vehicle Technical Rescuer Awareness, Operations, and Technician Levels.
