EL26 Certification Pathway

Registration

Registration for the classes is on the website. Before registering, students must set up a FEMA SID number through the FEMA Portal and must set up ACADIS through the ACADIS Portal.

Students are also responsible for completing all required online classes before certification testing.

FEMA

Create an account, log in, or recover your FEMA Student Identification number.

ACADIS

Create or access your ACADIS account for course registration.

Fireground Support

Candidates are eligible for ProBoard / IFSAC NFPA 1010 Support Person certification upon successful completion of the 48-hour Fireground Support Program and completion of the required outside corequisite training.

These outside training requirements may be completed at any time prior to attempting the Support Person certification exam or by the end of the Fireground Support training program.

All programs are available in both online and in-person formats, providing flexibility for candidates to meet the necessary prerequisites.

Firefighter I Training

Candidates are eligible for ProBoard / IFSAC NFPA 1010 Firefighter I certification after obtaining Support Person certification, upon successful completion of the 88-hour Firefighter I Training Program, and completion of the required outside corequisite training.

Hazardous Materials Operations should only be attended after the candidate has received initial SCBA training.

These corequisites may be completed at any time prior to attempting the Firefighter I certification exam, allowing flexibility for candidates as they progress through the program.

Firefighter II Training

Candidates are eligible for ProBoard/IFSAC NFPA 1010 Firefighter II certification after achieving Firefighter I certification, upon successful completion of the 40-hour Firefighter II Training Program, and completion of the required outside corequisite training.

Special Note: Certain skills performed and documented during the program may be submitted with the certification packet to satisfy specific performance requirements.

BVRO
Basic Vehicle Rescue

HMA/HMO – full course or refresher training must be within one year from certification testing.

Students who do not wish to achieve NFPA 1010 certification may still advance through the EL-26 training series by completing each course, the course corequisites, and passing course exams.
