DESCRIPTION:Course #\n26-ELIS-1 \nCourse Length\n16 Hrs \nLead Instructor(s)\nCarl Seltzer \nCourse Cost\n\nIn-County: $210\nOut of County: $250\n\nCourse Goal\nTo equip entry level firefighters with basic knowledge\, skills\, and abilities to begin their fire service career. \nCourse Description\nThis entry level course is designed to introduce new firefighters to basic information including an overview of the fire service\, fire service organization\, firefighter safety\, personal protective equipment and terrorism awareness. This is the first of four courses in the curriculum. \nNOTE:  We are only able to accept 24 participants for this class. Spots are filled on a first-come\, first-served basis. To secure your place\, please complete the online registration and you will receive a confirmation email from the Training Committee if your application has been filled out properly\, with a student signature and an officer signature. \nPrerequisites\n\nMinimum age: 14 years as of first day of class.\n\nStudent Equipment / Supply Needs\n\nPen/Pencil\nNotebook\nStudent Manual is provided in class\nFirefighter’s Handbook (must remain in possession of the student throughout the entire course)\nSupported reference material and skill book (Must remain in possession of student at the end of the program)\nHelmet\, gloves\, turnout coat\, turnout pants\, boots\, protective hood\, and protective eyewear (safety glasses or goggles)\nThe course cost includes the required text book and skills book required for the program which will be given to the student on the first day of class.
