DESCRIPTION:Course #\n25-HMAPRO-01 \nLead Instructor(s)\nPA State Fire Academy \nCourse Cost\n\nIn-County: $100\nOut-of-County: $100\n\nCourse Goal\nThe purpose of this program is to identify emergency service personnel who demonstrate competency in the performance requirements necessary to perform the duties of a firefighter. The NFPA 472 Standard for Competence of Responders to Hazardous Materials/Weapons of Mass Destruction Incidents identifies the minimum competence for a responder at the first level of progression. \nCourse Description\nA person certified at the Hazardous Material Awareness level will have demonstrated competency in the necessary knowledge and skills\, to recognize the presence of a hazardous material or WMD\, protect themselves\, call for trained personnel and secure the incident. \nPrerequisites\n\nSee the application for details.\n\nNotice\nApplications for the Spring Class are due by February 26th\, 2025 \nCourse Documents\n\nApplication\nHandbook\nSkill Sheet
